The existing large house had little exterior space to enjoy the views and summer weather. Working with the existing envelope, JNA carved porches out of the house, and completely renovated and reorganized the first floor to make comfortable living spaces.
The original kitchen was dark and without windows, located in the center of the house. The new kitchen, located on the south façade, is sunny, large and useful. Soapstone counters, vertical grain fir cabinets and open shelves create a traditional palate with a more modern vocabulary.
The house now feels like a great “cottage” for the family to enjoy!
